after: Before the exam he put me very much at easy and was talking about the current state
of the cruising industry and pre exam rules with a quick room check.

be your considerations? – I got a bit stuck on this was but he was looking for girding of a tug.
    ISPS
    Security levels
What do you do different in each level
When do you exchange a DOS
Who sets the Security Level for UK Ships
Stowaways- How as master do you treat them who do you report it to
Voyage Planning – From masters perspective,
On Voyage from Rotterdam to Miami- What are you considerations on route
I started talking about heavy areas of traffic ie north sea and English channel then led on to
work and rest hours and how you going to manage them.
Then crossing the AtlanticTalk to me about TRS
Any other things you would consider if you were crossing the Atlantic in the winter
time ?- Ice and Ice Accretion, what problems does it cause and how you going to
    solve them.
How are you going to make sure the officers on watch are keeping a safe navigational

2nd Engineer we talked about at the beginning of your examChief engineer is not happy with his performance saying he is not fitting in well with
the team and has attitude – I first of all stated I would use a Personal Development
plan and talk to him directly and see if he had any problems that we didn’t know
about and we would be monitoring is progress over the coming weeks then I carried
on and gave the merchant navy code of contact going through all steps as per GMA
    notes.
He then asked lets rewind a little bit you have done your investigation and found
that he punched a motorman in the engine room- Do you actions differ- Yes he will
be dismissed from the vessel immediately
    Radar Plotting :
Then the exam came to an end,
Debrief- Need to know about the specific thing about how flag have you approve passenger
ship muster lists and how there has to be a substitution ie- if the captain is killed who
replaces him and I explained about how tugs girting but I forgot the technical phrase for it.
Captain Andrews was very fair examiner and always guided you in the right direction and
made you feel very at ease.
Thanks to GMA and the best advice I can give is get a few people you know and do it
together I was very hesitant to begin with to do it online and via zoom however if you have
a good group and are strict with the group sessions speaking everything out load it makes a
    massive difference.
