Everything from before entering in Suez till vessel cleared from Suez.
Started with weather consideration prior entry, weather reports from port and other available sources, Master pilot exchange. Company restrictions for entering and leaving berth during RV and wind force limitations for container vessels mentioned in Company manuals, ISM – Masters’ responsibilities and overriding authority.
– Asked for actions on grounding?
Initial. Follow up..reporting’s.. till ERS.. SOPEP…MAIB..Why MAIB ? in between asked few questions and told hull is not ruptured and vessel is not having damage. Towage or Salvage.
– So now you proceed to next port?
Will wait for Hull inspection, Survey and other formalities. Interim Cert. of class.
– Official logbook – sections and what would be the entries?
– Note of Protest? Procedure and what is the purpose. Ok you did it … how it protects. And whom.
– Certificate issued by MCA, ACS, EAS and where to find out information about it? HSSC who issues cert..what cert?
RO authorization, who issues Wreck removal cert.
– How you ensure Chief officer is complying with Stability requirements, Stability throughout the voyage.
IMO stability criteria…
Allowance for FSE, rough seas, Ice accretion, Ice allowance, where would you find out about it?
– Masters’ Obligatory reports.
– Of, Rough seas.
Parametric and Synchronous rolling…. explained in own words…. Avoiding actions.
– Have you ever experienced any emergencies?
– You are in Mediterranean and received a distress call from Atlantic. What is your action. Will you proceed? Some discussions on IAMSAR and GMDSS.
– When you decide when to proceed or not to proceed for assistance after receiving Distress calls.
– Entries for all above where to make.
– Drills on board…
