Arranged for replacement crew, company said they cant. Used masters overriding authority. He kept pushing so said do Risk Assessment and get dispensation from flag to sail.

You find a fire escape door locked from the outside when in port? Was a bit confused here as we lock all external doors (restricted areas) in port. Said review SSP, should it be locked or not as per plan? Extra training for crew if it shouldn’t be locked. Extra signage to direct people to nearest escape if you need to lock it in port for security reasons. He kept pushing for something else. Said if its an emergency escape then should remain open but for security purposes do extra rounds to prevent security breach and re risk assess. He moved on.
