    Both the examiners joined exactly at 0900 hrs and introduced themselves. Gone through the code of conduct and told me in case the call gets disconnected they will resume the orals after the connection is established back but if they think its intentionally disconnected the exam will be forfeited and face to face examination might be preferred for the next time.
    Checked my room and below table and my desk asked what all things I have. Started by asking what type of ships I have done and put me on Container ship as Master.

    Q1: – Taken over already, vessel in port Glasgow and expecting ISM,MLC ,ISPS audit by MCA .How will you prepare vessel?
    Q2: -validity and Contents of SMC and DOC certificate. What all things are written inside. What is the validity of the initial certificate when issued for both DOC and SMC.
    Q3: -responsibility of Master under ISM?
    Q4: – New 3rd officer joining what all certs you will check for him? contents of sea ? Who signs the SEA?
    Q5: – What is ACS and EAS. How are both different and Criteria for both.
    Q6: – 3rd officer who joined is first time 3rd officer what are your considerations?
    Q7: – Masters considerations for passage planning from Glasgow to New York. What Navigational hazards are expected near USA arrival?
    Q8: – Showed me a Synoptic chart for T+96 hrs asked me what type of weather is expected and various symbols on chart and wind direction.
    Q9: -Vessel experiencing heavy weather, 3rd officer reporting heavy rolling at time What are your considerations and what will you do?
    Q10: – 4 containers fell on deck what will you do. Damaged the vessel and some other containers?
    Q11: – P& I function and Purpose?
    Q12: – Same heavy weather 3rd Engr broke his leg and severely injured your actions? Going to be Taken off by helicopter preparation by vessel? Died ashore in hospital your actions onboard after the agent informed you?
    Q12: – Purpose of Note Protest? What it is?
    Q13: – vessel in US Port #4 hold full of water up to 2 m. what are your actions? Later, found out it was a Manhole open actions?
    Q14: -ORB Ch Engr coming to you and asking for SIGN. What will you do?

    Smarty board
    Tug and tow from port side aspect
    RAM vessel from Stbd side aspect
    NUC
    Vessel aground
    RAM tug and tow port side
    Sailing vessel stbd side aspect

    ROR situations slides
    TSS PDV vessel crossing from Stbd side
    TSS FV crossing from port side
    TSS Target vessel crossing from Stbd side (identify first)
    Target vessel becomes FV and then action.
    RV situations 3 -4 straight fwd he asked to explain the situation and then take action.
