    Started with general rules for the exams. Asked me to show him around the room and how many entrance to the room.
    Questions may not be in order.
    1. What is GRT
    2. Where will you use it.
    3. You have joined a ship and received new charter party instructions. What will u consider in it? Mentioned laycan time, type of cargo to be loaded, all preparation for holds, req speed, everything related to voyage planning as per GMA
    4. What are the conventions which your last ship complied with? Was looking for ballast water convention
    5. What are the SOLAS certificates onboard your ship?
    6. Explain the procedure for a new company to obtain a DOC? Explain first for company then the SMC for Ship?
    7. What are the requirement for Marpol Annex 6? certificates carried under Marpol Annex 6?
    8. What type of Scrubber are fitted onboard?
    9. What are the sulphur requirement for vessel not fitted with scrubber system?
    10.You mentioned NOx. How does your vessel control NOx pollution? Was not really sure. Just mentioned that we maintain a NOx technical file onboard. It is controlled with the specific design of the engine and Aux engine with regular testing.
    11. You have just completed bunkering operation. How will you know what is the sulphur content of the fuel received?
    12. How long do you keep BDN for?
    13. How long do you keep Fuel Samples for?
    14. Crew member complains on the quality of food? What will you do? Root cause analysis, ask him the reason, etc. Ch cook not making proper food, Also went into merchant navy code of conduct.
    15. What is master responsibility with food and provision? Not exactly sure what he wanted, Explained him that I will make sure the all provision ordered are of good quality and sufficient quantities it is under MLC requirement.
    16. Ch cook has made a list of provision all good quality including all meat and chicken and pork. Do you consider this good for your crew? I told him that onboard there are various nationality of crew following different faith so we have to order considering this also there might be crew who prefer vegan food so need to order accordingly. Not sure if I gave the right answer but he skipped to the next question.
    17. New 3rd officer Pilipino has joined onboard wat all documents u will check?
    18. His medical is from a local Doctor. Does not mention ENG1. What you will do?
    19. What do you mean by CRA? What is the validity?
    20. Your 3rd officer is first time onboard after getting his COC how will guide him on keeping bridge watches?

    27. You are at sea and experience heavy weather with stern wave. What will be your concern? Explained him parametric rolling and synchronize rolling and actions to reduce it.
    28. How will you help the owner in this case? Explained him sea protest.
    29. You find cargo has been damaged due to heavy weather? Extended sea protest explained.

    You are CBD, PDV crossing from stbd side.
    You are PDV, RAM on Port side crossing.
    You are PDV, FV with gear extending more than 150m to stbd, seen right ahead, RAM tug and tow more than 200m crossing from port to stbd.
    You are PDV, You are overtaking PDV on your stbd beam No risk of collision, Tug and tow more than 200m crossing from port to stbd(NO RAM SHAPE).
    Lights
    Trawler more than 50m, underway and stopped or at anchor (asked sector of mast light)
    NUC from port side, underway and making way
    Tug and tow seen from astern, towing alongside
    Dredger underway and stopped or at anchor with 2 red and 2 green lights.
