5. TSS I am on PDV following the traffic lane. STB bow PDV <20m actions. In GMA we talked a lot about this situation since its common thing where people trip, so I was well prepared for it. I asked if my ship is following a deep route? – NO. Do I have ships around me who might make me nervous or complicate my maneuver? – NO. Then 1 short blast bold A/C starboard, because he is not impeding my Safe Passage. Then I’ve been asked if I am sure with my decision, he asked me to look once more into the picture and read out loud what is written bellow crossing vessel “PDV (<20m)” I continued… this is not rule 10 situation and quoted the part of the rule “10 (j) A vessel of less than 20 meters in length or a sailing vessel shall not impede the safe passage of a power-driven vessel following a traffic lane.” Continued… in this situation as we discussed earlier, he is <20PDV not impeding my Safe passage, therefore I will act as written in these Rules i.e.: 15, 16. In other circumstances I would stand on. – He moved on.

Plot: with True Trails and Relative vector – Overtaking from STB quarter. My actions, his actions.
Plot: Port, stab in front of the beam, one astern of me on center line.He stopped me and told me that I passed. Very fair and professional surveyor.
