    Following question were asked.
    1) Company sends you as a chief mate on board a vessel which is at the yard and just awaiting to be
    delivered. What are the preparations and checks will you carry out as a chief mate before the
    delivery of the new vessel.
    2) How will you carry out safety and security familiarization of new crew?
    3) What drills you do after departing from yard?
    4) What are the certificates, that comes under the ISM code?
    5)What is the certificate process for ISM SMC?
    6)What is your role in implementation of ISM and how you will motivate the crew?
    7) Procedure to obtain ISSC certificate?
    8)What interval you will conduct MLC inspection and what you will check?
    9) How you will change ship security level?
    10) duties of SSO and CSO.
    11) Young cadet of 17 years is going to join in yard, how you will prepare him?
    12) How will you check the oil record book entries whether it is correct or not and if officer incharge has made wrong entry then what you will do?
    13) The vessel has departed the yard and the vessel is in the Mediterranean Sea. The chief cook
    phones up and asks you weather he can throw garbage overboard or not. How you deal with this
    situation?
    14)After few hours, the vessel grounded, Action to be taken as a chief mate.
    15)How to go about with the re floating of the grounded vessel?
    16)The idea to re float the vessel has failed. What are the next considerations?
    17)what happened to vessel documents after grounding?
    18)what all certificates will be affected?
    19)The vessel resumed the voyage after re-floating. The Master seriously falls ill. What will be your
    actions as a Chief Mate? How will you get the medical treatment for him?

    24)The master informed you the vessel is going for dry dock to repair damages during grounding. How will you prepare the vessel for dry dock as a chief mate? Whole procedure I explained from
    preparation, before entry, during dry dock, before leaving?
    25)Now assume as if I’m the Master of vessel of less than 3000 GT.
    Ship handling: A vessel at berth port side alongside head 090 . How will you cast off the vessel from
    the berth and take a turn of 180 deg and head south to resume the passage? No wind and no tide
    situation. Your vessel is typically MCA ship, fixed right handed propeller, no tug and bt.

    Day situations:
    Vessel on a busy TSS following the lane. Vessel has risk of collision with
    -sailing vessel crossing from starboard to port
    -PDV crossing from port to starboard
    -Fishing vessel fishing inside the lane. Not engaged in fishing
    Also own ship has got another PDV going parallel, same course and speed on my starboard side. He
    asked me to explain the scenario and what action I will take in this situation
