    Assessment Overview
    The candidate joined the session 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time, and the examiner joined within 5 minutes. The assessment commenced with identity verification, followed by the reading of the MCA examination policy. A discussion on the candidate’s past experience was conducted. The examiner clarified that the examination was for an Unlimited Chief Officer position on a UK-flagged chemical tanker.

     Functional requirements of the ISM Code.
    3. Chemical Tanker Knowledge
     Required documents and certificates for a chemical tanker.
     Differences between cargo Categories X, Y, Z, and OS.
     Contents of the Certificate of Fitness.
    4. Cargo Operations
     Procedure for handing over cargo watch to the Second Officer.
    5. Surveys & Preparation
     Preparation for Load Line Survey.
     Preparation for Safety Equipment Survey.
    6. Emergency & Situational Response
     Vessel listing after watch handover while off duty.
     Calculation of Deadweight Allowance (DWA) based on given data.

     Vessel Not Under Command (NUC), underway, seen from port side.
    Buoyage (Region A – Outbound Heading 000°)
     Preferred channel to starboard.
     East Cardinal mark.
     North Cardinal mark. (Identification, light characteristics, and actions required were discussed.)
    Radar Plotting (Restricted Visibility Scenario)
     Own vessel heading: 180°.
     One target on starboard quarter and one on starboard bow.
     Asked to complete a rough radar plot and action.
    Action Taken: Reduce speed.
