PASS1. Joining a new build vessel as CE – not yet in service
2. Documents/certificates checking (mentioned it would have interim SMC as new but DOC would only be interim if a new ship type to the company).

4. Draw a sewage system (drew from suction manifold, vacuum/macerator pump to bioreactor (showing the internal stages), showing the air supply, showing chlorine dosing, showing level switches.
5. Your discharge pump seems to always run what could be the cause – talked about how the level switch could be stuck, could confirm a low level on a gauge glass and replace it or rectify it sticking.
6. Tests on sewage leaving the vessel.
7. Crosshead checks
8. Is a polished or grooved liner better and why?
9. Liner material and why is it used?
10. What does a liner have for cooling (he was after bores but I have never seen these on 2 strokes I have worked on).

13. Prepare a boiler for survey.
14. Your blowdown pipe was repaired before what will you do this time – he was talking about a section flanged on each end – wants to hear you will replace is with class approved flanges, welding and pipe. It will be NDT’d before installation and pressure tested. He also wants to hear you’ve remedied the cause (boiler water testing correct etc).

16. Emergency generator SOLAS requirements.
17. What fixed fire systems do you have onboard.
