Master 3000 (Yacht) March 2022 Capt. Ahsan Khan (Cardiff) Time: 1hour 40minutes Result: Pass
I logged on 20min prior, Capt. Khan logged on about 2min prior to our scheduled time. Checked my passport and asked me to confirm my name and dob. Explained the rules of the exam and asked me to show him the room. Confirmed syllabus this exam was going to be based on. Capt. Khan was very clear on his instructions and said if I was unsure of the question, please ask him to repeat it. Informed me that I should assume he does not know any of the answers and give detailed explanations. I did just that and he stopped me when he had heard enough. There were a couple of occasions where he wanted additional information and prompted me.
Asked me about my background, types of ships I’ve sailed on and areas of operation including current ship.

He then said that he has finished his examination and that I have passed. I let out an uncontrollable yuhuu and he said he remembered when he passed his final exam, and his reaction was similar. Said he was very happy with my answers and asked if I had any feedback or questions. Capt. Khan was friendly and fair throughout the exam. I’m sure there are a few questions I have forgotten but no trick questions.
Big thank you to Vinil and Shayne at Glasgow Maritime Academy and my classmates.
Advice – study buddies and online sessions. Practice vocalising your answers. All the best.
