The Orals is about confidence and preparation. I put a lot of work into getting myself ready. The Orals class should only be used to get the fine detail you should have the majority of work done before that. Go through the previous Orals reports they are invaluable. Keep an eye on Regs for Ships, MAIB Reports, GCaptain for industry news they like to ask that as well.

Capt. Insan likes to ask questions very quickly and cut you off. He will try and rush you into an answer but take your time it’s your exam and you’ve paid £169 of the Queen’s pounds for his time. Think about what you’re going to say before opening your mouth. They will smell blood very quickly.

Many Thanks to Capt. P.English, Andy Edwards, Ian Smithson, Michelle Cooper, M.Singh and last but not least my mate Donald.
