We are due for boiler survey, what spare parts do we need to prepare. How do i prepare the boiler,
which manhole do I open first and why? Showed me a picture of some corrosion on the water side.
Explain what it is and why it’s occured and discussed the chemicals we use. Testing of the safety
valves.
Showed me a 2 stroke timing diagram, can I explain it.
What are the new regulations on sulphur content?
Has there been any problems with the VLSFO? Talked about abnormal wear
How does the sulphur content affect the required cylinder oil? What is TBN? Typically what values
were used with 3.5% and compared with 0.5%?
Something about a bunker delivery note and viscosity being high
Can I explain how to carry out crankshaft deflections?
Can I describe how to take bearing measurements (2stroke)
You have to conduct a bilge tank inspection, talk me through the procedure including enclosed space
entry procedure.
4E is inexperienced and is telling you there is no voltage on the generator. What can be the cause of
this. How can we restore the residual magnetism.
Emergency generator. What it supplies, how would I test it on load.
Switchboard survey, what does it include. How would I test the trips and alarms.
Load line survey what it includes.
