    Exam started with formal introduction and explaining about cheating, safety and emergency protocol. Also small chat on current COVID-19 situation in country and governments action on it. Told me to answer everything as Mater level.

    -Tell me about MGN-69.
    -Joining as master on bulk-carrier at Singapore anchorage, how you will go about that – went deep in certificates and documents, also asked few random certificates survey duration, was expecting to hear IZMAT inventory and certification. MGN 633.
    -What is ACS tell me all.
    -Vessel next port Australia preparations for it. – Wanted to know about voyage planning and BWE.
    – Tell me about ballast water management plan.
    -What is D1 and D2.
    -How will you carried out Ballast water exchange – why and how you will do that.
    -Why ballast water exchange should not be done during night-time – (Quite a time spent here.)
    -Ballast water Management compliance for UK ships.
    -What all information you will get in BWM manual.
    -What happens in docking survey and why is it required only in dock.
    -Tell me about IWS. Procedures when undertaking IWS. – MGN 546.
    -Fire in purifier room in E/rm.
    -Third officer called you at night encountered Mist, what you expect from him to do before you go on bridge. From where he will know what actions to be taken.
    -Life-Boat testing, how you will advise 3rd-Officer and testing procedures. – Was expecting to hear about MGN 560 & 541.
    -Oiler Bulling AB (AB has already approached to C/E & CH/OFF but no actions taken from them.)

    -Ship Handling. Right hand fixed screw. – Berth portside alongside closed harbour.

    -PSC in Australia found navigation charts/publications not updated and lifeboat engine not working, what you will do.
    -Standards for ECDIS and back up.
    -Radar plotting in RV only Relative Vectors.

    -To identify Buoy and characteristics – North and South cardinal, Preferred Buoy (Without top mark)
    – Heading south cardinal on 180 heading.
    -Smarty Boards – Various lights. (Quite a time spent here.)
    -Explain Rule.13

    That was it we have completed exam. After a long pause, he said you are pass. The most awaiting wonderful relief feeling, which do not have any words to express. Thanks to God, my family to bear me sitting in isolation even when I am at home, off course Capt.Vnil Gupta with his wonderful classes and notes.
