Started with lights and asked me to tell him about the ship type, size, day shape, fog signal, and my action.

C. CBD 4 Miles off, and 2nd mate calls at midnight that CBD is not keeping clear of you? Action

N/B There were different other scenarios that I cannot remember under exams condition. However, the few ones were the significant ones that I can remember.
3.0 Puts me on a container ship, vessel in port.
1. You are joining as a new master, what information would you exchange with the outgoing master?
2. What certificates will you be checking?
3. Polish 2/E joins, how will you sign him on?
4. What documents would you be checking?
5. What is the validity of CRA?
6. Your CSR is 9 and you discover number 4 is missing, what will you do?
7. On familiarization tour, you discovered lifer-aft has not been serviced for on inspection due date. What will you do?
8. The company is on holiday?
9. DPA calls and informs that charterers are worried that you may miss ETA at discharge port if you don’t sail out now, what will you do?
10. Where is this stated?
11. Now you have a dispensation from flag to sail from Southampton to California in September, what would you expect from your second mate’s passage plan?
12. While enroute, the chief mate calls at 5 am that the barometer is dropping fast, what would you do as a master?

Just when he wanted to put forward another slide, he checked his time and it was 16:00hrs, he then stopped. He looked at me and said, “you have satisfied the requirements to be a master on any British ship, Congratulations”. At this point, I could feel the weights come off my shoulders.
