    NOTE- (DONT FALL IN THE TRAP OF SAYING CAN DO +3 MONTHS FOR ALL EXCEPT ISM DOC. Mentioned this that their is a way to do it after expiry+3 months for all except ISM DOC. But normally all renewals within -3 months until expiry date)
    8.Definition of GT and why is it important. (Registration fee, port dues, safety regs, Manning regs}
    9.2/O Certificates to check when joining. (ENG 1, STCW AND REFRESHERS, CEC, CRA, Type Specific ECDIS, ETC)

    ROR:-

    TSS- One v/l overtaking from stbd – location just near midship of my v/l- One v/l crossing from stbd to port- ROC with the crossing v/l actions.(Slow down and when overtaking v/l clear alter to stud.) Note:- The crossing v/l was a grey bulk carrier picture , as per the slide shown my v/l and that v/l size was similar but he wanted to know will you check anything else, took a few good seconds before I cud say I will take the binocs and check the type of v/l- wether fv or, less than 20m (AIS) or SV.

    He then said FV crossing tss actions. Same scenario as above- 5 short to FV-slow down
    Own vl overtaking another v/l from her stbd side and a FV With gear extending right astern on the stud side crossing— Slow down and let the v/l being overtaken go ahead and once cleared alter to port.
    The photo was not clear wether gear extending port or stud so I asked him it were extending aft of the v/l.

    Buoyage – Everything about Safe water mark, New wreck marking buoy, Region B – Preffered channel to stbd. ( Actions when inbound) I was looking at the buoys from the side all in a straight line )

    West cardinal and east cardinal heading south – Go between them.

    NUC from stern with stern light (TWO SCENARIOS), Towing RAM >200M Gear, Trawler <50m, FV

    RV :- Plotting on radar ping sheet- one v//l stbd quarter and one 2 points on stbd bow (overtaking)- ROC with both. – explain quoting Rule 19 for your action. (Alter to port)
    End of it surveyor congratulated me and said I passed. Also mentioned I did not mention VDR in the collision situation and said its important. (The emergency situation went on for a good 15 -20 mins. Thankfully didn’t penalise for it. After the helicopter evacuation he immediately moved on to the next question, else, I would have remembered.)
    Very Fair examiner , if you miss something he will prompt you.
